It is more than likely that the lead Stormtrooper being blasted was played by Reg Whitehead. Immediateley after the completion of the scene, as seen in the out-take in EMPIRE OF DREAMS, Stunt Co-ordinator Peter Diamond rushes over to his colleague to put out the actors burning costume from the explosive detonation.
